Br@less Jennifer Lawrence shows off her eye-popping assets in her Versace dress which was replica of Elizabeth In 1994, Elizabeth Hurley soared to worldwide prominence when she sported a Versace gown made of safety pins at the premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral.
And Jennifer Lawrence appeared keen to court the same incredible attention on Tuesday afternoon as she stole the English actress’ style while dazzling at a Red Sparrow photo-call at the Corinthia Hotel in London.
The 27-year-old stunner looked incredible in the plunging black gown which boasted a near-identical shape to that worn by the Bedazzled beauty, 52, when she appeared on the arm of her then-beau Hugh Grant at the LA bash 24 years previously.
Jennifer has been blazing the promo trail for her new movie and has naturally been keen to put on a showstopping display at every turn.
Her latest sartorial choice is the most note-worthy due to its similarities to Elizabeth’s famed dress – which has long been iconic in the fashion and movie worlds.
Making for an incredibly sultry look, she paired her sizzling gown with a smouldering eye-shadow sitting alongside a muted pink lipstick.
Elizabeth previously said of the dress: ‘That dress was a favour from Versace because I couldn’t afford to buy one. Hugh’s people told me they didn’t have any evening wear, but there was one item left in their press office. So I tried it on and that was it.’
Some branded the dress crass and distasteful, yet she hit back: ‘Unlike many other designers, Versace designs clothes to celebrate the female form rather than eliminate it.’
Jennifer is not the first star to borrow from the 1994 gown as Lady Gaga sported the gown in 2012 to meet with Donatella Versace while she was promoting the brand’s archive pieces in her music video for The Edge Of Glory.
Jennifer infamously got ‘very very drunk’ before filming a sex scene with Chris Pratt for their movie Passengers and she now revealed she has become a lot more comfortable about intimate on-screen moments.
She revealed to Entertainment Tonight that her raunchy sex scene in Red Sparrow ‘actually wasn’t that bad’, saying: ‘Everybody made me feel so comfortable that I probably at a certain point started making everybody else uncomfortable.’
Continuing to talk to the TV show about the behind the scenes filming for the racy scenes, she revealed: ‘Because I’d be like, ‘I don’t want the robe. I’m hot. I’m eating.’ Everybody’s like, “She needs to cover up”‘!
In Red Sparrow, released March 2, J-Law plays a Russian ballerina who is recruited to be a ruthless spy.
The script required Jennifer to stand ‘naked in front of a classroom full of people’ and she has explained that she had more confidence to film the scene compared to three years ago when she made Passengers.
‘I don’t have the same fear and insecurity in that one specific area that I used to,’ she told Entertainment Tonight.
